I remember New Year’s Day in 2013. A holiday is a special day of celebration, and a day when most people do not have to work. On New Year’s, I went to the Rose Bowl game. The Rose Bowl is a game of football between the best teams of the BIG 10 and the PAC-12 conferences. This was the 99th year the game was played. It was very special to the players, coaches, and fans. The smells of the Rose Bowl were amazing. Before the game, all of the fans from the midwest had there hamburgers and bratwurst cooking, and it smelled delicious. There were sounds from the announcer blaring out of the loudspeaker to tell the whole stadium what just happened. The Rose Bowl stadium is a massive stadium with a meticulously cut, grass field at the base of the stadium. During the game, there was a sea of people watching every move of every team. The two teams that played in the game were Stanford University and the University of Wisconsin. Both of these schools had exceptional football programs. But more importantly, there was my family. I went with my dad, my older brother J.P., and my aunt that visits every holiday season. All of these people are very special to me and the rest of my family. They are like guardians of my childhood, keeping me safe from bad things. This was a very special holiday to me because it brought my friends and family together, and it was a very fun, special, and exciting event.
